Secret Society of Traffic & Conversion
Yikes! I just listed this Seminar and this is what I learned today..
The Secret Society of Traffic Conversion is NOW SOLD OUT!
We want to personally thank everyone for their interest in
The Secret Society Of Traffic Conversion!
If you'd like to be notified in case someone cancels, enter your first
name and email. We will contact those on the waiting list on a first
come, first served basis.
Secret Society of Traffic & Conversion
January 18-20, 2008
Orlando, FL
Your Host (if you get to go) is: Buck Rizvi
Seems it was sold out on December 13th, 2007!!
This is why I need to get you the information sooner!
I added a poll to the right side. Seems I need to let you know about these BEFORE they get to the Sold Out phase as well as in time for you to plan!!
I'm creating a form for you to sign up for emails about the LIVE! Internet Marketing Seminars.
I list them here about 2-3 weeks out generally. That isn't always enough time for everyone.
I want to send you a lot more information about them too!
This is why I need to figure out my aweber thingy and get that code into my blog.
I'll do what I can here. I may need a lot of help for THIS task!
Maybe tonight will be a good night for it. We were invited to a party (it's New Year's Eve after all) and decided, instead, to have our OWN party. Well, looks like only 3 other people will be here and they are my boyfriends gaming buddies.
I think I'll let them do a 'boys night out' kind of thingy and get some work done.

2008 Success Workshop
Bob Jenkins just finished a series of calls he started in his "Solstice Sale" and finished with 2008 Success Workshop.
63 of us were in attendance at various times.
3 days, 3 calls a day.
A couple of short term forums (20 days!) and folks to network with.
All the makings of a great learning experience.
Bob made audio and video of all the calls and may make the Workshop available to others in the future.
I'll come back, when I've gathered my wits again, and tell you more!

The Week Ahead: December 30th thru January 5th
As we transition to a new year, There are no Seminar opportunities for 'The Week Ahead.'
Maybe this is a hint to someone out there.
I've been on the calls with Bob Jenkins, who conducted the last LIVE! Seminar of the year, that I know of, and I learned a lot.
I'll be relating some of that to you as well.
Stay tuned for more Seminars coming in January!

Back To Work!
Well, it's back to work for me and I'll be listing Seminars again and visiting the Entrecard site.
What a trip. Have you seen EC? They built a site for all the cards.
We're throwing a party for New Year's Eve so I may slow down briefly again before the end of 2007.
Here's to the New Year. Make it your best yet!

The EntreCard Results Are In For The johnchow.com Ad!
Ok, my ad is finished running on johnchow.com and I got a total of 60 clicks from there, according to the EC statistics area.
The view from google analytics, if what I'm seeing is in fact the 'source of traffic,' looks kind of weird and the number seems a little different. More like 48-49. Then about 17 from the johnchow.com site itself for that day.
I'm still very pleased because my blog was averaging 5-6 visits a day only a few weeks ago.
On Friday, 12/21 google analytics indicates a jump to 79 visits!
THAT is what they call "The John Chow Effect" as it creates a spike for another site.
I was pleasantly surprised at the 'bounce' rate as well. It was only 77.xx% for that day. My average is much higher some days.
So, did I experience the "John Chow effect" for my blog that day?? Oh Yeah!
I expect I'll go back into Entrecard and watch for my opportunity to run my ad on johnchow.com again.
Since I saw such good numbers early on for that Friday, I decided to set up a bunch more ads for the holidays. I think it has paid off very well.
I still have a few left to run. I got a lot of them from the blogs they list on their 'least wait' list (or whatever they call it). Some went right away, after approval and some will go in the next couple of days.
I have noticed a general trend in holiday traffic. It seems to be very good for my blog.
What about you?

An Amazing Service!
I just learned about 'google alerts' and I have Jeff Gardner to thank for that!
I set it up to help me find you more Internet Marketing Seminars; and I found them!!
In fact, I found a whole FRANCHISE with over 2000 members. Ever heard of WSI?
"We Simplify the Internet" - a service offering, amongst other things, Seminars!
I was up late a couple of nights ago, filled out a 'squeeze' form and the next morning, I got a call from Gregg Towsley!
He told me about the 2000 members (the Seminar i found was his) and I started looking. Oh yeah, there's more coming up too! 2008 is looking good for folks out there looking to get something going online.
If you keep coming back, you'll get to hear about them all. If you know about any, (and they aren't already in my database!) I'll make it a point to write you into my posts with a link to the site of your choice.
Thank you Jeff Gardner, that's an AMAZING service!

The Coveted Entrecard Ad!
I AM THERE!
Internet Marketing Seminar Listing Service by Pam Hoffman landed a spot on the coveted johnchow.com site!
How? you ask?
I watched, ever so closely, the John Chow ad on Entrecard for a few days, back when the site was 'new' (ok, it was about a week and a half ago!). I clicked and clicked and clicked so I would have enough credits and...
I struck, when the time was right - John had an opening and I had the required credits.
This is my first ad thru Entrecard - I have two more running on 12/22 and I realized that I'm getting pretty close to the holidays and that I probably should just bank credits for awhile until the new year comes around.
My buddy Kevin Davis will be one of my hosts on Saturday.
Now, the Friday before Christmas could be a good day to run my ad on johnchow.com or it could be a rotten day to run my ad on johnchow.com.
What do you think?
Will people take the day off, chill at home in front of their computers? or will they go out and mingle, party and generally get ready for the holidays? For me, and my ad on the coveted site, time will tell.
I got a 'screen shot' of my ad on johnchow.com. Does anyone remember them? I'm wondering if I can get it on here for you...
Well, it wasn't working with a 'paste' (aka ctrl+v) so I'll have to go and learn how to do that for you. If there is any way I can get that, I'll add it in here...
And I'll...
Let You Know
... how it goes with visits.
Entrecard has already increased my average daily visits by about 33% according to google analytics. That's pretty darn impressive! I wonder if google will buy them out down the road. That's sheer speculation on my part!
Later today, "The Week Ahead" and the LAST Seminar of the year!

All I Want For Christmas!!
"All I Want For Christmas is my..." Affiliate Incubator Recordings!!!
Did you ever pre-order a recording of a Seminar?
I went to Affiliate Incubator in October and when I was ordering, they (very smartly) included a pre-order offer of the recording of the Seminar for an extra $97.
So I ordered!!
I had a couple of reasons for ordering. I wanted to recap anything I missed (i missed Ewan Chan's whole part 1!). It was a better deal for my partner Jeff than actually bringing him, and I wanted to go thru the whole thing over again to remember and act upon. The Seminar was really great!
I've been looking for the recording in the mail ever since.
I even wrote them recently. I'm still waiting for a response.
Perhaps I didn't write to the proper place. I just realized - there IS somewhere ELSE I can request more information! This article is already paying off! Thank You!
Am I just impatient or is 9 1/2 weeks excessive? I really didn't think it would take this long to get my order filled. The product was essentially "ready" by the time the Seminar was over. I've ordered AND RECIEVED Seminar recordings AT THE SEMINAR in the past. That was in 1989. Technology must be better now, don't you think?
Has anyone received their AI recordings? Got any ideas how to find out when they are coming?
I REALLY thought this set of recordings would be here before this - now, it's All I Want For Christmas!!
I hope I get them by then.
I'll let you know what happens, sorry for the 'rant' - it won't happen TOO often! ;)

Holiday Break
"All Work and No Play Makes Jack a Dull Boy" --Jack Nickelson "The Shining"
Took a break from the action to go see this. I've never seen anything like it!
Metrolink in the Los Angeles, CA area rolled into our local train station, 50,000 lights, a brief show and toy drive sponsored by our local Firefighters.
Lots of kids, Girlscouts with homemade cookies and hot cocoa, all good holiday fare.
It was a wonderful sight and I really loved it.
What are doing for a break this holiday?
Let Me Know,

Success Symposium - This Seminar Can't Wait!
Coming in February - This Seminar Can't Wait! They are selling tickets right now and should be sold out LONG before it arrives.
Achievers from all over North America (and the world) are gathering for The Success Symposium
***AND***
The historic launch of the all-new SUCCESS magazine
A little bit of background (in case you care):
You see, SUCCESS magazine was first established in 1891 by Orison Swett Marden as a personal development magazine. Through the years, the publication was led by several renowned personal-development authors and editors, including Napoleon Hill, W. Clement Stone and Og Mandino.
The all-new SUCCESS magazine will return to its roots as the premier personal development title - what achievers read! It'll be the foremost trusted source for success resources. HISTORIC!
So, this launch will be big! And we've teamed with the publisher of Success Magazine to develop a day-long success-focused event that will have a potentially life-changing effect on you.
And here's why I'm telling you now (since I just heard about it) instead of waiting until February..
We have very limited seating and this may sell out within a few days (plus the bonus VIP upgrade will be gone within hours).
So, If You Go, Let Me Know!

Novel Holiday Idea
Looking for a holiday gift that will really blow someone away? What about a Seminar?
Start 2008 right for you or someone you love. Sign up for an Internet Marketing Seminar!
Some of them offer you a deal - buy one, get one free! You AND a friend could go to some of these.
Others, like eComXpo, are offered at no charge. Then there are the ones offered at very low cost and move around so you might find them within driving distance. eBay LIVE! works that way.
Just look at the ones listed on the right under "Go To Seminars" - there's something for everyone on your list!
I think January is going to get off to a good start too! There are several things which you might be interested in. Some of these are first time Seminars so you can get the producers fresh.
January brings the first Product Development Lab, some of whom I met at Affiliate Incubator. SES has offerings right off the bat. Eben Pagan may do another Altitude in January.
I've got 10 different Internet Marketing Seminars in my database lined up for January. Some I just found and some I need to verify.
I'll be listing them very soon so that you can prepare for January.
And if you need a really awesome gift for someone this year, visit the listed Seminars.

I Read Your Blog Too!
WOW!
You'd think that the end of the year would be a good time to slow down the Internet Marketing gig and spend time with family and friends.
Not the IM'ers I've been watching.
Even though the BlogRush widget is everywhere, I'm still getting people signed up thru my blog! I'm seeing some DARN GOOD titles on the widget too!!!
AND I'm reading them! The posts are outstanding. There are a bunch of really great bloggers out there. I'm stunned.
There is one thing I'm wondering - how in the heck do I get back to these blogs again later? If the content is good, I wanna go back!
Oh, yeah, I could 'bookmark' it. That is only good for awhile. For me anyway. I just stop looking at them and I don't actually remember why I went there from that either.
Oh, I could set up a record in my OutLook (which i do quite frequently) yet, there are just some blogs that don't get that kind of attention from me yet.
How about something on BlogRush itself?
Hey John! What about it?
Then, there's this new EntreCard (EC for short) thing. Have you seen it yet? I think you might like it.
It's a bit confusing at first. I finally figured it out and now, it's pretty much my latest addiction. Thanks Patrice for turning me onto it! I really like it and I'm letting other people know about it too.
Yeah, there's good chance I Read Your Blog Too! with all this going on. I keep visiting them. I keep reading them. Some are really funny. Do some digging, I think you'll find something you like too.
Me, I'm gearing up this month too. I spent most of November in Ohio which slowed me down a little. Hey, I was helping my mom!
I'll work in holiday stuff a little later on this month. I'm not as busy as I remember in year's past so Stay Tuned! I'm setting up the next Seminars for you and it's looking better and better!
Best,
Pam Hoffman

The Week Ahead: December 9th Thru 15th
The Week Ahead...
IS AVAILABLE!
If you are considering producing an Internet Marketing Seminar, this might be a good week to look at.
Time will tell as I find these Seminars and get them more and more organized. That reminds me, I have some other projects to work on for you. This might be a good time to do a little more on them.
I think there is still at least ONE Internet Marketing Seminar on the list for this year.
I'll be starting up the January Seminars soon and I see that there are some interesting things going on out there for 2008...
BTW, I'm ALWAYS open to input. If you know of a LIVE! Internet Marketing Seminar going on anywhere in the world or if you are PRODUCING a LIVE! Internet Marketing Seminar, do let me know.
I'm open to interviews as well.
I'm thinking about something else too. If you are producing an Internet Marketing Seminar somewhere in the world, I'd like to talk with you about that. I'm wondering about your motivation primarily.
I once helped run a whole bunch of Seminars including National Space Society's 14th International Space Development Conference and I gotta tell you, they are a lot of work!
How are Internet Marketing Seminars different? Can you really make a profit? Do the hotels still work the way they did for us?
I can see that being of possible benefit to some of you.
What do you think? Would you like to hear what it's like from THAT side of things? Would it help with your Internet Marketing work online?
Drop by and leave me a note, I'm ready and willing to hear what YOU have to say about all this.
Until next time,

EntreCard: An Ongoing Internet Marketing Seminar?
In my opinion, an 'Internet Marketing Seminar' should be a concentrated, beneficial event in your life that helps you get a step (or 10!) up on your internet marketing work.
I think I've been going to a 'Seminar' the last few days with my EntreCard experience. I mean this in a good way - the BEST way!
I had the most visits to my SeminarList blog EVER yesterday! This is just the beginning, I perceive.
I wrote about EntreCard the first time here: I Read Your Blog Too! since I have read more and more blogs due to EntreCard and BlogRush - especially EntreCard!
And I've seen an incredible amount of sites, the flavor of the authors and the lessons from them I can learn.
And I'll be sure to go back for more!
Not only has EC (EntreCard) been beneficial for the added traffic, the exposure and the sites I can go to, I have a chance to 'meet' people all over the world and establish friendships based on something truly terrific - our shared blogging experience.
Thank You EntreCard!

"A great yogi is anyone who has achieved the permanent state of enlightened bliss. A guru is a great yogi who can actually pass that state on to others. The word guru is composed of two sanskrit syllables. The first means 'Darkness,' the second means 'Light.' Out of the Darkness and into the Light. What passes from the master into the disciple is something called mantravirya: 'The potency of the enlightened conciousness.' You come to your guru, then, not only to receive lessons, as from any teacher, but to actually recieve the guru's state of grace."

Affiliate Incubator Interview: Pam Hoffman
I recently realized that I never mentioned to you MY experience at Affiliate Incubator.
Find here my own 'interview' from Affiliate Incubator - my very first LIVE! Internet Marketing Seminar.
How did you find out about Affiliate Incubator?
PH: In my research for all LIVE! Internet Marketing Seminars in the world, I run across many interesting Seminars. I kept wanting to go to them. It turns out that there were a couple in the area that particular weekend and I was in a position to go to one. I had to pick only ONE!
I put a lot of thought into which one would serve me better - they were both about the same in $$$ amount (with the earlybird special on the other one). Oh, I expect I would have learned a lot from the other one as well. I had to pick though.
I think I picked Affiliate Incubator since I'm still quite new to all of this. I've heard that most internet marketers start online promoting affiliate programs versus offering their own products. That is certainly true for me. I started working internet marketing in earnest in February 2007. I don't have any products yet. I'm promoting other people's stuff at the moment.
The thing that also appealed to me about AI (Affiliate Incubator) was that they were planning on addressing the affiliate and the affiliate manager. You know at some point, you want to become the one with the product and get the efforts of others to help you sell it.
That is what got me I think.
What did you get out of going to Affiliate Incubator?
PH: I made a large number of contacts, well, large for me anyway. Of all of the Seminars I've been to, this one seemed the most comfortable or the best 'fit' or something. I sure talked a lot more than I'm used to!
I heard a lot of the same things I've been reading about and got a few nuggets of info that were new to me.
When you decide to make online marketing your 'thing' initially, there can be an overwhelming amount of information. One of the first things Russell and Stu did was to organize the first '24 hours' for an affiliate.
This sorting out and organizing were invaluable for me. It gives me a path or a check list for any project. Oh, it may not work out for me personally in the long run. It's sure a good starting point though. When you are asking yourself who to listen to and who to believe, this helps sort things out.
The individual presenters were very informative. I find that, even when I've heard something from someone, hearing it again can be a very different experience. I'm different for one thing. I may have acted upon some of the things - which puts me in a different place to hear their message a little better or something.
It seems like each of these folks have a slightly different way of doing things on the internet. This helps me understand that I need to figure out how things are going to work for me too.
I have a sign on the top of my monitor: "I Gotta' Work it 'til it Works" and that is my idea of utilizing the information I've learned at AI. I don't know that I can do things the same way that these folks have. I sure have a bunch of models to look at. Knowing me, I'll probably synthesize a number of them into something that suits me perfectly.
Time will tell.
And that is what it's all about - spurring on ideas and actions.
I don't plan on doing things like the gurus. I plan on taking their methods and making them mine. I know that I work different than anyone else in the universe and I've got to learn what that is and do that. Little else will work for me I'm betting.
What are the main things you might tell someone considering going to an Internet Marketing Seminar to convince them that they should go?
PH: If you are considering going, of course, I'd like to think I provide a valuable service and I think you should visit my blog. But you knew that, didn't you?
If I were helping someone decide, I'd probably mention that it is pretty hard to lose. Most event planners offer guarantees and if you truely do not make any friends nor learn anything even remotely likely to help your business, ask for your money back!
After that, it's your time you must consider.
I guess, if you can see this being the best use of your time at the moment, by all means, check it out! There is a lot of talent out there and ebooks can only get you so far.
I'm serious about the networking too. Where else are you going to find folks you can learn from and with whom you may form alliances with? It is all up to you.
The speed at which things change, alone, might be the tipping point for you. You can't get some of the stuff they relate to you from products you buy. You might get the information. You might get some questions answered like during a teleseminar. You won't get to compare notes with your neighbor or joke around with other attendees or the presenters. And you need to ask yourself if this information will even be relevant when you finally get that product!
At a Seminar, I think most presenters add value to their presentation by offering you some tidbit they learned just recently a.k.a. the latest and greatest! My feeling is that Stu and Russell did just that for us.
How do you even find that kind of info anywhere else?
You'll never meet the staff behind the 'names' nor their families reading an ebook.
Stu's sister was incredibly helpful during the AI Seminar. I'm always curious to learn, 'how many people' arrived for the Seminar (i've been to a few seminars!). The staff will be the only ones who can tell you stuff like that.
Oodles of things happen in the hallways and the faux-pas can always get deleted!
You know, I think you should Go! If you are at all serious about this internet marketing stuff, you owe it to yourself to take in a Seminar!
Did you learn what you needed from Affiliate Incubator to make it worth your while?
PH: It's possible I'm somewhat unique in that the simple act of going to AI gave me fodder for my blog. Oh, yeah, I sure got a lot out of it personally to help me along in my business.
I feel like this was amplified because of my particluar topic on my blog.
OK, so I got contacts, I got information, I'm getting known in the community and AND I get to write up a bunch of stuff for my blog!
On the downside...
I think I agree with GiGi. I drove home each evening and back the next morning. This makes for a tiring event. If I could have stayed in the hotel, that would have meant more time for networking and less time on the road. I might have rested more like for the lunch breaks. I could have gone to my room for a 'power nap' or whatever. :)
Is there anything else you'd like to say about your experience at Affiliate Incubator?
PH: I think that going to AI solidified my committment to finding all of the LIVE! Internet Marketing Seminars in the world for my visitors.
It locked into me the true value of going to a LIVE! Internet Marketing Seminar in a way that just writing about it can not do.
I can see what I need to do better for my blog and for my work from the experience. I still have much to digest and I'll probably be making references to this for quite awhile yet to come.
I thank you for reading and I extend the invitation to you to visit periodically to learn what is happening in the world of LIVE! Internet Marketing Seminars. I'll be logging them for as long as I see the need in the world for people to know where to find these things and how to go.

I Read Your Blog!
I have been reading a bunch of blogs lately and, periodically, I find out that some of these bloggers just went to an Internet Marketing Seminar!
I get to them from my BlogRush widget sometimes and other times, I know about them like johnchow.com and Jeremy Schoemaker's (oh, i knew about Jeremy's tho i never went until i saw a link on BR).
I look around and sometimes I find a way to contact them and ask them for an interview. Other times, I have no idea how to contact them!
I have done interviews in two different ways so far. I spoke with David White on the phone and translated that one into text by hand. Whew! That was really something.
I read a blog post by Andrew Wee right around then about interviewing - he had some terrific ideas. I think I was reading something on johnchow.com (or somewhere) too, about interviewing busy bloggers. Whoever it was said not to bother asking 'may i interview you?' just ask the questions!
Well, I have been doing that ever since. I asked all of the folks I met at Affiliate Incubator a bunch of questions by email and many have already replied. I have most of them up on my blog already (and duh, i never wrote you my thoughts - i'll get right on that later today, i'm writing you an article right now ;).
I'll get the rest of the Affiliate Incubator 'interviews' on the IMSLS (that's short for Internet Marketing Seminar Listing Service) blog as soon as they are ready for you.
I am wondering: How Do I Get Ahold of These Folks To Ask Them About Their Experience?
If you have any ideas, I'm all ears! I sent an email to John Chow a couple of days ago and, yeah, my setup here in Columbus, Ohio ain't the greatest, I know, but I have yet to hear from him!
What's it going to take?
I appreciate any input and, hey I'll pick a commentor and offer a prize. I have something in mind - be sure to add in your email address or email me: pamhoffmanatcoxdotnet so that I can get your address and send it to you!
Prize winner will be picked on December 1st.
Thanks for stopping by,
Pam Hoffman

Affiliate Incubator Interview: GiGi Konwin
The Affiliate Incubator Interviews are still coming so I'll keep posting them for you. I spoke at length with GiGi Konwin during the Seminar, (and a little bit since then) who is just a dear.
Here is HER input from Affiliate Incubator last month...
I asked: How did you find out about Affiliate Incubator?
GiGi said: Actually I won a ticket to the Affiliate Incubator. Jim Morris of Nichebot ran a contest where all you had to do was say why you think you should be one of the winners of the contest. I think sounding pathetic helped - there were 3 other winners.
PH: What did you get out of going to Affiliate Incubator?
GK: Quite a bit. I had decided before I went that I was going to write a blog about the experience for those internet marketers that have never had a chance to go to one of these seminars. It made me take really good notes. I discovered that I really had all the tools I needed, just had to figure out a way to put it all together. I think Russell's last talk on being an entrepreneur really wrapped it all up for me.
PH: What are the main things you might tell someone considering going to an Internet Marketing Seminar to convince them that they should go?
GK: There's always something new to learn. It's a great experience just to be able to talk with other people that understand the "lingo" and know what it is you do. Those of us that sit at home all day in front of a computer need to experience our professions from other people's perspective.
PH: Did you learn what you needed from Affiliate Incubator to make it worth your while?
GK: Well, obviously I did, since I didn't pay for it. Plus I was local to the area - I think that was a drawback for me. I think I would have gotten more out of it if I could have stayed later and "networked" more after hours. I would recommend staying in the seminar hotel if you can afford it.
PH: Is there anything else you'd like to say about your experience at Affiliate Incubator?
GK: Just some tips for others - take business cards, even if all they have on them are your name and email address. Make a real effort to say 'hi' to everyone, including the presenters. I'm basically a pretty shy person, so it was a real effort to do that, but you'll have a much better experience if you do.
PH: Tell me a little bit about what you are doing and be sure to include the website of your choice.
GK: Basically, I have health-related websites, but I have done a blog about my seminar experience. Be sure to read about what goes on at an internet marketing seminar here: Affiliate Marketers Dream
Congratulations on winning GiGi and Thank You for your time! I keep visiting your blog to help remind me of events from Affiliate Incubator.

On The Road Again!
Hey Gang!
I just cleaned up the laptop at my mom's in Columbus, Ohio so that I can use it to do my work from here. Did you miss me? : )
First of all, the machine wanted to update it's calendar - from 2002!
THEN there was a ton of annoying and malicious adware! I could not get past this one site on the internet - not even to get spybot on here and clean things up. My boyfriend Jeff has just been a sweetheart! He's at a Seminar today (a Real Estate Seminar!!) so I can't directly give him kudos. He'll know soon enough!
So, to make a 10 hour story into a 2 minute post. I did finally get spybot going and then the internet was completely disconnected! I must have cleaned up TOO much. Hey, it was my first time!
I did everything I could think of and then I called the ISP. Who ran me thru a lot of those DOS prompt things and THEY discovered that I had a 'winsock' error.
Well, that meant they couldn't help me! They DID give me the number for the computer manufacturer, one hour call later, and I was online again! I even got to talk with a very nice lady in India (i'm sure).
I have accomplished something I usually let my boyfriend handle. I'm feeling kind of proud of myself today.
OK, now it's back to work!!

Your Third Affiliate Incubator Interview
Here's a third 'take' on Affiliate Incubator from another attendee I met there.
Terry Hudson takes a totally relaxed attitude to all of this - it's no wonder being from St. Thomas as he is! :)
Here's what he has to say...
I asked: How did you find out about Affiliate Incubator?
Terry said: That's a great question, Pam. I live in St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. Coincidentally, I've been feeling a little isolated as I think I'm the only one doing any Internet Marketing here. I've tried to talk to my friends and whenever I explain what I'm doing, I always get this really puzzled look and then they change the subject.
So when Jim Morris of Niche Bot fame announced his contest I wrote in saying pretty much what I explained above... that no one here understood what I was talking about and that I felt isolated and would like a chance to meet some cool people who had the same interest. I was one of the three chosen to receive a ticket courtesy of Jim.
PH: What did you get out of going to Affiliate Incubator?
TH: Pam, the presenters were all awesome and had their own slant on Affiliate Marketing but, there was one common thread. That was... you have to treat this like a real business, and they all echoed one another when they said you "have to be prepared to fail." Another one of my notes from Russell Brunson says... "failing makes it easier to go to the next step" I guess I'm doing something right then because I've had 3 hard disc failures in the last 18 months and have managed to put my websites and business back on track each time. It's the power here; it continually spikes or cuts off when you least expect it. I guess with each setback, you're actually one step closer to making it (even though you may not realize it.)
PH: What are the main things you might tell someone considering going to an Internet Marketing Seminar to convince them that they should go?
TH: Another good question Pam. I've read numerous times that if you don't get anything else out of an Internet Marketing seminar, the one thing you can take home with you are new friends and potential JV partners. After attending the Affiliate Incubator seminar, I can say that meeting people like you, and all the others sitting around our little group, has to be the highlight of this seminar. Don't get me wrong, I filled my workbook with notes from each speaker and have already implemented a few of the "top dawgs" suggestions. But, in the long run, the relationships I've formed are the first thing on my list of things I took home from this seminar.
PH: Did you learn what you needed from Affiliate Incubator to make it worth your while?
TH: Yes I did! I have pages and pages of notes from all the speakers. Everyone was interesting and had some very good content to pass on.
Also, as I've mentioned, I'm kind of isolated. I've sent my share of emails to well known gurus, but have almost never received a reply. There were several important attendees and speakers that I met, that I believe I could at least get some kind of personal response from now that I've put a face with a name, so to speak.
PH: Is there anything else you'd like to say about your experience at Affiliate Incubator?
TH: I would like to encourage anyone who is serious about building an internet businees to invest your time and money to attend at least one seminar. The information and most importantly, the relationships, are worth every dollar I spent attending the Affiliate Incubator Seminar.
PH: Tell me a little bit about what you are doing and be sure to include the website of your choice.
TH: Thanks for the opportunity to explain what my business is about. First of all, I have to admit that I've been doing just the opposite of what the Affiliate Incubator speakers were trying to get across. I've been going 'willy nilly' all over the place. I have clearly defined goals and a vision of what I want to achieve, but I'm coming to the realization that you can't be all things to everyone.
OK. With that said, what I've been trying to do is build a core company with niche websites on many different unrelated topics. Because of my interest in boats and the fact that I have a boat detailing business here in the Virgin Islands, I started http://www.boatdetailing.info/ to retail my product line and services. I do ok with that site and it's been online for about 36 months. Then one day, I read something about "get rich on the internet." Build Google adsense sites and the "money will come like crazy" or some such headline; and so I did. I have about 20 Adsense sites and they all make a dollar or two a day, except www.fivedaytrips.com which does $3.00 to a high of $14.00 a day. Ok, not too bad for a beginner, but where is the money? So the next thing was building sites with the intent of flipping them for $300 or so after holding onto them for a month to three months. I built some of these, but never sold one though. Tried, but I guess I didn't do it right or something(:>) So then, I decided I would get rich by having one site where I would teach newbies how to earn money online, www.terryhudson.net. I had it chocked full of affiliate ebooks, reports, free articles and you name it. Even have 30 to 50 uniques visitors each day but you know what? No money!!!
So that brings me up to date. I attended the Affiliate Incubator and learned this one key thing from Ewen Chia...
'Practice the power of one.' In other words, focus on one thing and one thing only and, when you get really good at it then... add something else. So, my big vision and dream to build a web business that I can flip one of these days is still a reality. The thing I'm concentrating on is taking it one step at a time and building value with each decision I make. Then my friends on St. Thomas will say something like this in five or six years... "you know Terry Hudson? He just sold his Internet businees for 5 mil... what an overnight success he was. Terry is one of the luckiest people I know." Ha Ha Ha... an overnight success! Everyone reading this knows how much work it takes, don't you?
PH: Do you know of any other Internet Marketing Seminars coming up that I should post to my blog?
TH: Pam, I'm counting on you to keep me informed.
Then Stay Tuned Terry! I have over 100 Internet Marketing Seminars the world over spanning the next 12 months and I'm always looking for more.
If you ever hear of any, drop me a line and I'll be sure to list it - if I don't already have it in my database, I'll be sure to give you credit and a link to a site of your chosing. That goes for anyone who reads my blog!
Thanks so much Terry, sounds like an adventure out there, I'm looking forward to seeing how it all goes for you!

Another Affiliate Incubator Interview!
They are coming in thick and fast and since we may have a 'lull' in the Internet Marketing Seminar action, I'm just going to hang these up for you!
Let's hear from Jon Yeo who came all the way from Australia to join us at Affiliate Incubator!
PH: How did you find out about Affiliate Incubator?
JY: Its a bit of a co-incidence, although there are no accidents. I decided I wanted to get into Internet & Affiliate Marketing and a couple of opportunities came to me that week. (Way back in March). In September, I had booked a trip to San Diego, the Bob Proctor Cruise and I wanted to take advantage of my time in the US (I am from Australia) by finding an affiliate marketing seminar. Again, later that week, I got an email from Stu and Russell via Rick Raddatz that a seminar would be running in Anaheim in the days after the Cruise. It was a no brainer as my flight back to Australia is out of LA.
PH: What did you get out of going to Affiliate Incubator?
JY: That, to the creative mind, anything is possible. There are so many opportunities out there, it's almost overwhelming. I have a whole bunch of notes from the AI weekend.
PH: What are the main things you might tell someone considering going to an Internet Marketing Seminar to convince them that they should go?
JY: Be open to ideas, be prepared to connect, be prepared to add value (thanks Rick for that one- I mentally "knew" that but Rick taught me the POWER of understanding that concept). Finally, have a goal. What do you want to achieve out of that opportunity?
PH: Did you learn what you needed from Affiliate Incubator to make it worth your while?
JY: Yes and plenty more. We got plenty of ways to manage our affilliate marketing. All fantastic. Its much better than just having one technique and hoping that it works.
PH: Is there anything else you'd like to say about your experience at Affiliate Incubator?
JY: Thanks to Stu, Russel, Rick, Ewan, Germaine & the others for an awesome event.
PH: Tell me a little bit about what you are doing and be sure to include the website of your choice.
JY: I am having huge success with a blog - jointhesecret.blogspot.com, its ugly but it works, I also see amazing results with www.AbundanceByDefault.com. Its a great opportunity. Finally, check out www.crazyegg.com. Did you know moving things around on your site and watching clicks can be monitored with a heatmap? That's what Crazyegg.com does.
PH: Do you know of any other Internet Marketing Seminars coming up that I should post to my blog?
JY: No, but that's why I have you Pam. http://seminarlist.blogspot.com
You are very kind Jon! When you hear about any other Internet Marketing Seminars "Let Me Know!" ;)
Be sure to come back for the next Affiliate Incubator Interview!

Your First Affiliate Incubator Interview!
I told you about Affiliate Incubator, now we let some of the other folks who went express what they learned at the Seminar.
Kevin Davis generously offered these insights...
I asked: How did you find out about Affiliate Incubator?
Kevin said: We found out about Affiliate Incubator from Stu McLaren when we were in Boise for Russell's 7 Figure Bonus event. Since we purchased Affiliate Inferno in the past, we were given complementary tickets to Affiliate Incubator.
PH: What did you get out of going to Affiliate Incubator?
KD: The most important thing we get out of seminars these days, is the
networking opportunities it provides. For this event, we also learned
more about changes in our affiliate marketing to build a business around
the affiliate marketing instead of just looking for the affiliate sale.
I had always wanted to meet Ewen Chia, and learned a great deal about
Super Affiliate strategies at this event.
PH: What are the main things you might tell someone considering going to an Internet Marketing Seminar to convince them that they should go?
KD: No matter what level you are in your online business, your business will improve by attending events like this. You will have the opportunity to network with other marketers and discover different methods and tactics that you wouldn't possibly be exposed to in another environment. The face to face interaction opens a better relationship for joint ventures down the line. Many people are overwhelmed when they consider talking to "gurus", but the reality is they are just normal people too, and really enjoy sharing their information with you.
PH: Did you learn what you needed from Affiliate Incubator to make it worth your while?
KD: Absolutely, every time we attend an event we pickup new ideas, and we are then charged up and start implementing them over the following months.
This event was no different and has added a spark for us to charge forward with some projects that were slipping by the wayside. We also picked up a few potential clients for our marketing and affiliate management services.
PH: Is there anything else you'd like to say about your experience at Affiliate Incubator?
KD: It was great to connect with you, Pam, at the event as well as several
other bloggers. It will be interesting to watch our businesses evolve
in the coming months and reconnect next year at another event.
PH: Tell me a little bit about what you are doing and be sure to include the website of your choice.
KD: We are busy with a number of projects including a Forex Coaching
program, Online Video Training for internet marketing, and Marketing
Services for small to medium sized businesses outside of internet
marketing. You can find out more about what we are doing at
http://gurusforhire.com/. We will be expanding this site over the next couple months to incorporate all aspects of the Firehorse Marketing business.
PH: Do you know of any other Internet Marketing Seminars coming up that I should post to my blog?
KD: We have a seminar planned for Las Vegas towards the end of January. It will be a three day event focused on product creation. It is called Product Creation Lab, and the salesletter and blog will be put up in November.
Thank You Kevin - I have your Seminar in my database and I'll be letting everyone know about it as soon as it comes up in the line-up.
Thanks you SO MUCH Kevin! Your comments are very illuminating - even for me!
I'll be posting further comments as they come in from other attendees so...
Stay Tuned!

I found one more today. I'll tell you about it tomorrow.
Until then...
If You Know, Tell ME So... I can add it to my list!
Maybe I need a contest or something. We'll see...

3 Steps to Offering a Successful Workshop
Written by Patrick Schwerdtfeger*
Workshops and seminars are among the best ways to grow your business. Not only are you immediately positioned as an expert in your field but you are introduced to potential new clients at the same time. Another major benefit is that you can get introduced to multiple new clients at once, allowing you to leverage your time. Think about it. You’re getting introduced to multiple new clients in the best possible way. What could be better?
Taking full advantage of workshops and seminars requires some preparation. It requires a few steps. Can you hold a successful workshop without going through this process? Of course. But there are plenty of benefits to be had by taking some time on the front end to ensure you’re maximizing the benefits you could gain from the exercise.
First and foremost, select a topic that will sell. Easier said than done. Knowing what will sell is an intuition not everyone has. Some people have a natural ability to identify what will sell and what won’t. But a good place to start is to look at what’s selling already. There are people and companies spending millions of dollars to see what people are looking for and there’s no reason you can’t use their research results yourself.
Look at the front covers of popular magazines in your area of expertise. Trust me; whatever they have on their front cover is selling. Visit popular websites in your field. Again, the things they’re promoting on their homepage are definitely selling. Visit an online article directory and use keywords to search for articles and then sort the results by most popular. Go to Amazon and search for books the same way. Sort the results by bestselling and see what books people are actually buying.
People who are interested in golf usually have more than one book about golf. People who love dogs usually have dozens of things around their house that all have to do with dogs. And people who are interested in internet marketing usually have plenty of literature to support their efforts. Just because someone else has already addressed the topic you’d like to do yourself, doesn’t mean you can’t create a similar product. When people have an interest, they’ll keep buying and buying and buying.
Once you have a few ideas for a topic that will sell, think about how you can incorporate the same theme into a workshop and begin developing the content. In many cases, the online article directories are the best place to get free information. You can go there, print up two dozen articles on the topic and organize the various tips and strategies into your own workshop content. Using this strategy, you can quickly develop extensive content on virtually any topic imaginable.
The last step is to decide where you want to hold your workshop. There are generally four great places to consider: community organizations like Rotary and Kiwanis clubs, municipal adult education programs, for-profit adult education centers like the Learning Annex and tradeshows or conferences. In all of these cases, you can submit a proposal and get on the schedule quite easily and you don’t have to worry about marketing. They’ll provide the audience. All you have to do is show up.
Holding workshops and seminars is a brilliant way to grow your business. Don’t overlook the opportunities available and don’t think you can’t do it yourself. There is a lot more information about this topic on my website. If you’re serious about the effort, I encourage you to take advantage of the resources available there.

From another Affiliate Incubator attendee...
However, there is one thing YOU must do. That is, if you haven’t attended a seminar, make plans in the near future to attend.
The people you meet and form friendships with, will help take you to the next level of your business. The value you get from the speakers will give you ideas for future projects, and like myself… will help you envision a makeover of your approach to internet marketing.
Wishing everyone much success,
Terry Hudson

eComXpo What a Great Experience!
And you still have time to participate...
This is a totally 'virtual' Trade Show and there are a lot of people to connect with. The booth attendants are friendly and HEY! I 'met' someone I didn't know who is producing an Internet Marketing Seminar.
How Cool Is That?
Chris Johnson
a4uExpo
Coming Soon - I expect I'll be writing it up next in fact.
It's quite interesting getting to a booth (they really look cool) and browsing around - they make it easy to navigate and there is usually quite a bit to learn about.
I noticed that running everything takes up quite a lot of resources and I was wishing I had a better system to view everything with. I also went into a discussion which I thought would be a presentation. I was a little surprised.
It takes a little time getting used to how this works and all. At least for me, the first time it did.
Oh, and if you want to sign up for eComXpo - there's still time just click here.
